അലഹബാദ്: ഉത്തർപ്രദേശിലെ അലഹബാദ് സർവകലാശാലയിൽ അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങളുടെ അഭാവത്തിനെതിരെ പ്രതിഷേധവുമായി വിദ്യാർഥികൾ. ക്യാമ്പസിലെ കെട്ടിടങ്ങൾ ചോർന്നൊലിക്കുന്ന അവസ്ഥയിലാണെന്നും മതിയായ ശുചിമുറികളോ കുടിവെള്ള സൗകര്യമോ ക്യാമ്പസിൽ ലഭ്യമല്ലെന്നും ആരോപിച്ചാണ് പ്രതിഷേധം. പെൺകുട്ടികളുടെ ഹോസ്റ്റൽ അടക്കമുള്ള പ്രധാന കെട്ടിടങ്ങളെല്ലാം ശോചനീയാവസ്ഥയിലാണെന്ന് വിദ്യാർഥികൾ പറഞ്ഞു. ഇതിൻ്റെ വീഡിയോ ദൃശ്യങ്ങളും പുറത്തുവിട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.
മഴ പെയ്താൽ ക്ലാസ് മുറികളിലും ഹോസ്റ്റലുകളിലും വെള്ളം കയറുന്ന അവസ്ഥയാണെന്നും ഇത് സംബന്ധിച്ച് 2017 മുതൽ പരാതികൾ നൽകിയിട്ടും നടപടിയുണ്ടായില്ലെന്നുമാണ് വിദ്യാർഥികൾ പറയുന്നത്. അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിന് പകരം സീറ്റുകൾ വെട്ടിക്കുറച്ച് മികച്ച നാക് അക്രഡിറ്റേഷൻ നേടിയെടുക്കാനാണ് സർവകലാശാല അധികൃതർ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് വിദ്യാർഥികൾ ആരോപിച്ചു.
നിലവിലുള്ള സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ വെച്ച് മികച്ച റാങ്കിങ് നിലനിർത്താനായി ഓരോ കോഴ്സിലും വിദ്യാർഥികളുടെ എണ്ണം പരമാവധി കുറയ്ക്കുകയാണ് അധികൃതർ ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഇതോടൊപ്പം ഫീസ് കുത്തനെ വർധിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. പ്രതിഷേധിക്കുന്ന വിദ്യാർഥികൾക്കെതിരെ വൈസ് ചാൻസലർ പ്രതികാര നടപടികൾ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നതായും ആരോപണമുണ്ട്. പ്രതിഷേധത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി അഞ്ച് വിദ്യാർഥികളെ ഇതിനകം സസ്പെൻഡ് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇവരെ തിരിച്ചെടുക്കാൻ സർവകലാശാല അധികൃതർ തയ്യാറാകുന്നില്ലെന്നും വിദ്യാർഥികൾ ആരോപിച്ചു.
