13 വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുൻപുള്ള ഒരു ഫെബ്രുവരി 16. ആ ദിവസം പദ്മപ്രിയയ്ക്ക് സമ്മാനിച്ചത് ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന കുറെ ഓർമകളാണ്. ഒപ്പം മുന്നിൽ പകുതി ഇരുട്ടും. പൈലറ്റ് ആകണമെന്നായിരുന്നു പദ്മപ്രിയയുടെ ആഗ്രഹം. എന്നാൽ അപ്രതീക്ഷിതമായി ജീവിതത്തിനൊപ്പം കൂടിയ ആ ഇരുട്ട് അതിന് സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല. വിധിക്ക് മുന്നിൽ തോറ്റ് കൊടുക്കാൻ പദ്മപ്രിയയും ഒരുക്കമല്ലായിരുന്നു. ക്യാമറ കൈയിലേന്തി. ഫോട്ടോഗ്രഫി പദ്മപ്രിയയുടെ ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി. ഒരു കണ്ണ് അടച്ചു പിടിച്ച് ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫർമാർ ചിത്രം പകർത്തുമ്പോൾ, പദ്മപ്രിയയ്ക്ക് കാലം നേരത്തെ തന്നെ കാഴ്ച മറച്ചു നൽകി. എസ് എൻ എം കോളേജ് മാലിയങ്കരയിലെ അവസാന വർഷ ബികോം വിദ്യാർഥിനിയാണ് പദ്മപ്രിയ. വിധിയോട് പൊരുതി ജീവിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള തന്റെ നിശ്ചയദാർഢ്യം ആണ് ഈ പെൺകുട്ടിയെ ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫിയിൽ എത്തിച്ചത്.
