പെരിഞ്ഞനം (തൃശ്ശൂർ): പെരിഞ്ഞനം ആറാട്ടുകടവ് ബീച്ചിൽ വിരിഞ്ഞ 88 കടലാമക്കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ കടലിൽവിട്ടു. കഴിഞ്ഞ 48 ദിവസമായി ഇവിടത്തെ മത്സ്യത്തൊഴിലാളികൾ പരിപാലിച്ചുവരുന്ന മുട്ടകളാണിത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം 17 കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ കടലിൽ വിട്ടിരുന്നു.

തെരുവുനായക്കളും മറ്റും മുട്ടകൾ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തിലാണ് കടൽത്തീരത്ത് കുഴിയെടുത്ത് വലകെട്ടി മുട്ടകൾ സംരക്ഷിച്ചത്. വനംവകുപ്പിന്റെ നിർദേശപ്രകാരമാണ് സംവിധാനമൊരുക്കിയത്. ഇരുന്നൂറിലേറെ കടലാമ മുട്ടകളാണ് ഇവിടെ സംരക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇനിയും നൂറിലേറെ മുട്ടകൾ വിരിയാനുണ്ട്. 

In Short: At Perinjanam Arattukadavu beach in Thrissur, 88 sea turtle hatchlings were released into the sea, following a 48-day conservation effort by local fishermen. With guidance from the Forest Department, over 200 eggs were safeguarded using protective netting to prevent threats from stray animals. More hatchlings are expected soon.
