നഗോയ: ഏഷ്യൻ ഗെയിംസ് സ്ക്വാഷിൽ തിളങ്ങി ഇന്ത്യ. വനിതാ സിംഗിൾസിൽ ജപ്പാൻ താരത്തിന്റെ വെല്ലുവിളി അതിജീവിച്ച് അനാഹത് സിങ് ഫൈനലിലെത്തി. ആദ്യ രണ്ട് ഗെയിം തോറ്റ ശേഷമായിരുന്നു അനാഹതിന്റെ തിരിച്ചുവരവ്.
ആദ്യ ഗെയിം 11-9നും രണ്ടാം ഗെയിം 13-11നും ജപ്പാൻതാരം സതോമി വതനാബെ സ്വന്തമാക്കി. എന്നാൽ പിന്നീടുള്ള മൂന്ന് ഗെയിമുകളിൽ അനാഹത് വൻ തിരിച്ചുവരവ് നടത്തുകയായിരുന്നു. മൂന്നാം ഗെയിം 12-10ന് നേടിയ അവർ നാലാം ഗെയിമിലും അഞ്ചാം ഗെയിമിലും ജപ്പാൻ താരത്തെ ചിത്രത്തിലേ ഇല്ലാതാക്കി. 11-6, 11-3 എന്നിങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു അവസാന രണ്ട് ഗെയിമുകളിലെ സ്കോർനില.
അതേസമയം മിക്സഡ് ഡബിൾസിൽ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ജോഷ്ന ചിന്നപ്പ-സെന്തിൽകുമാർ സഖ്യം വെങ്കലം നേടി. സെമി ഫൈനലിൽ ഇന്ത്യൻ ജോഡി ഹോങ്കോങ്ങിന്റെ കാ യി ലീങ്-മിങ് ഹോങ് ടാങ് സഖ്യത്തോട് പരാജയപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു. സ്കോർ: 11-10, 2-11, 11-10.
40-കാരിയായ ജോഷ്ന ചിന്നപ്പയുടെ ഏഷ്യൻ ഗെയിംസിലെ ആറാം മെഡലാണിത്. 2010-ലാണ് ആദ്യ മെഡൽ നേടിയത്. അന്ന് ടീം ഇനത്തിൽ വെങ്കലം നേടി. പിന്നീട് 2014-ൽ ടീം ഇനത്തിൽ വെള്ളി സ്വന്തമാക്കി. 2018-ൽ ടീം ഇനത്തിൽ വെള്ളിയും വനിതാ സിംഗിൾസിൽ വെങ്കലവും നേടി. 2022-ൽ ടീം ഇനത്തിൽ വെങ്കലവും ഇത്തവണ മിക്സഡ് ഡബിൾസിൽ വെങ്കലവും കഴുത്തിലണിഞ്ഞു.
