ന്യൂഡൽഹി: പ്രണയബന്ധത്തിൽ പിരിഞ്ഞതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് ആത്മഹത്യചെയ്താൽ പ്രേരണാക്കുറ്റം വരില്ലെന്ന് സുപ്രീംകോടതി. സാഹചര്യങ്ങളോട് ആളുകൾ പലതരത്തിലാണ് പ്രതികരിക്കുകയെന്നും ജസ്റ്റിസ് ജെ.ബി. പർദിവാല അധ്യക്ഷനായ ബെഞ്ച് പറഞ്ഞു.
പങ്കാളി വിവാഹത്തിന് വിസമ്മതിച്ചതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് തെലങ്കാനയിൽ യുവതി ആത്മഹത്യ ചെയ്ത സംഭവത്തിൽ ആറുപേർക്കെതിരായ ക്രിമിനൽ നടപടികൾ റദ്ദാക്കിയാണ് സുപ്രീംകോടതിയുടെ നിരീക്ഷണം.
ഒന്നാംപ്രതിയോടൊത്ത് യുവതി പരസ്പരസമ്മതത്തോടെ മൂന്നുമാസത്തോളം ഒന്നിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. അയാളുടെ വീട്ടിൽത്തന്നെയാണ് താമസിച്ചിരുന്നത്. പിന്നീട് വിവാഹത്തിന് ഇയാൾ വിസമ്മതിച്ചതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് യുവതി ആത്മഹത്യ ചെയ്തു.
തുടർന്ന് ഒന്നാംപ്രതിക്ക് പുറമേ അയാളുടെ അച്ഛനമ്മമാർ, സഹോദരി, സഹോദരിയുടെ പ്രതിശ്രുതവരൻ, ഒരു സുഹൃത്ത് എന്നിവർക്കെതിരേ പ്രേരണാക്കുറ്റത്തിന് കേസെടുത്തു. യുവതിയുമായുള്ള ബന്ധം ഒന്നാംപ്രതിയുടെ വീട്ടുകാർ അംഗീകരിച്ചിരുന്നതായി സുപ്രീംകോടതി വിലയിരുത്തി.
ആത്മഹത്യ ചെയ്ത യുവതിയുടെ സഹോദരിയുടെ മൊഴിയുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് പ്രതികളുടെപേരിൽ കേസെടുത്തത്. വിവാഹത്തിൽനിന്ന് പിൻമാറാൻ ഒന്നാംപ്രതിയെ വീട്ടുകാർ നിർബന്ധിച്ചെന്നാണ് ആരോപണം. എന്നാൽ, ഇതിന് തെളിവില്ലെന്ന് സുപ്രീംകോടതി പറഞ്ഞു.
