
തിരുവനന്തപുരം: ജനശതാബ്ദി എക്സ്പ്രസിൽ ഞായറാഴ്ച മുതൽ പുഷ്ബാക്ക് സീറ്റുകൾ. തിരുവനന്തപുരം- കണ്ണൂർ ശതാബ്ദിയിലാണ് മാറ്റിയ കോച്ചുകൾ ആദ്യം നിലവിൽ വരുന്നത്. എൽ.എച്ച്.ബി. നോൺ എ.സി. ചെയർ കാറോടുകൂടിയ ശതാബ്ദി സർവീസ് ഞായറാഴ്ച ആരംഭിക്കുമെന്ന് ദക്ഷിണ റെയിൽവേ തിരുവനന്തപുരം ഡിവിഷൻ അറിയിച്ചു. തിരുവനന്തപുരം- കോഴിക്കോട് ശതാബ്ദിയിലെ സീറ്റുകളിൽ രണ്ടാംഘട്ടത്തിൽ മാറ്റം വരുമെന്ന് റെയിൽവേ അറിയിച്ചു.
ശതാബ്ദിയിലെ നിലവിലെ കോച്ചുകൾ സംബന്ധിച്ച് വ്യാപക പരാതി ഉയർന്നിരുന്നു. ദീർഘദൂര യാത്രയ്ക്ക് അനുയോജ്യമല്ലാത്ത സീറ്റുകളെന്നായിരുന്നു പരാതി. നിരന്തര പരാതികൾക്ക് പിന്നാലെയാണ് പുതിയ സീറ്റുകളുള്ള കോച്ചുകൾ അനുവദിച്ചത്.
പുഷ്ബാക്ക് സീറ്റുകളോടുകൂടിയ 16 കോച്ചുകൾ കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം കൊച്ചുവേളിയിൽ എത്തിച്ചിരുന്നു. അറ്റകുറ്റപ്പണി നടത്തിയ ശേഷമാണ് ഇവ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയത്.
കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം, തിരുവനന്തപുരം- ഷൊർണൂർ വേണാട് എക്സ്പ്രസിൽ കൂടുതൽ യാത്രക്കാരെ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളാൻ ശേഷിയുള്ള പുതിയ ജനറൽ സിറ്റിങ് കോച്ചുകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി. ആദ്യഘട്ടത്തിൽ പത്ത് പഴയ കോച്ചുകൾ മാറ്റിയാണ് പുതിയത് ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയത്. ഘട്ടംഘട്ടമായി ബാക്കി ജനറൽ കോച്ചുകളും മാറ്റും. പുതിയ കോച്ചുകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി ആദ്യയാത്ര വ്യാഴാഴ്ച ആരംഭിച്ചു.
Content Highlights: Southern Railway will introduce new LHB coaches with pushback seats on the Thiruvananthapuram–Kannur Jan Shatabdi Express starting Sunday. The upgraded seating is being rolled out following frequent passenger complaints regarding comfortable long-distance travel on the older coaches. A total of 16 pushback-fitted coaches were delivered to Kochuveli and integrated after completing necessary maintenance work. The Thiruvananthapuram–Kozhikode Jan Shatabdi Express will receive the new pushback seating coaches in the second phase. Additionally, Venad Express received new general sitting coaches with higher passenger capacity, replacing 10 older coaches in its first phase.
