കൊച്ചി: കോമണ്വെല്ത്ത് ഗെയിംസില് മെഡല് നേടിയ മലയാളി താരങ്ങള്ക്ക് മാതൃഭൂമിയുടെ ആദരം. കൊച്ചി മഞ്ഞുമല് ഓഫീസില് വെച്ച് നടന്ന ചടങ്ങില് മാതൃഭൂമി ഡയറക്ടര് കെ ജിനചന്ദ്രന് താരങ്ങള്ക്ക് സ്വര്ണമെഡലും പ്രശസ്തി പത്രവും സമ്മാനിച്ചു. പ്രോത്സാഹനം നല്കിയാല് കേരളത്തില് നിന്ന് ഇനിയും ധാരാളം കായിക താരങ്ങള് വലിയ നേട്ടങ്ങള് കൊയ്യുമെന്നും മാതൃഭൂമിയടക്കമുള്ള മാധ്യമങ്ങള് നല്കുന്ന പിന്തുണ ഇനിയും തുടരണമെന്ന് കോമണ്വെല്ത്ത് മെഡല് ജേതാക്കള് പറഞ്ഞു.
യുകെയിലെ ബിര്മിങ്ഹാമില് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ യശസുയര്ത്തിയ എല്ദോസ് പോള്, അബ്ദുള്ള അബൂബക്കര്, ആര് ശ്രീശങ്കര്, പിആര് ശ്രീജേഷ്, ട്രീസ ജോളി എന്നിവര്ക്കാണ് മാതൃഭൂമി ആദരം അര്പ്പിച്ചത്. മാതൃഭൂമി നല്കിയ അംഗീകാരം ഏറെ വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ളതാണെന്ന് താരങ്ങള് വ്യക്തമാക്കി.
