ഫെന്‍ഗല്‍ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റില്‍ തമിഴ്നാട് അതീവ ജാഗ്രതയില്‍. ന്യൂനമര്‍ദം 12 മണിക്കൂറിനിടെ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റായി മാറുമെന്നാണ് കാലാവസ്ഥാ വകുപ്പിന്റെ പ്രവചനം. ബംഗാള്‍ ഉള്‍ക്കടലില്‍ രൂപംകൊള്ളുന്ന ഈ വര്‍ഷത്തെ മൂന്നാമത്തെ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റാണിത്. തമിഴ്നാട്ടില്‍ പലയിടത്തും ബുധനാഴ്ചയും മഴ തുടരുകയാണ്. വ്യാപക കൃഷിനാശമുണ്ട്. ചെന്നൈ വിമാനത്താവളത്തിന്റെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം തടസപ്പെടാന്‍ സാധ്യതയുണ്ടെന്നും സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങള്‍ മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നല്‍കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ദേശീയ ദുരന്ത നിവാരണസേനയെ പലയിടത്തും വിന്യസിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. സൗദി അറേബ്യയാണ് ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റിന് ഫെന്‍ഗല്‍ എന്ന് പേരിട്ടത്.
