കേരള ഫുട്ബോള് ടീമിന്റെ ആദ്യ സന്തോഷ് ട്രോഫി കിരീട വിജയത്തിന് ഗോള്ഡന് ജൂബിലി. 1973 ഡിസംബര് 27-ന് എറണാകുളം മഹാരാജാസ് കോളേജ് മൈതാനത്തായിരുന്നു കേരളത്തിന്റെ കന്നി കിരീട നേട്ടം.
ഫൈനലില് മൂന്ന് തവണ ജേതാക്കളായ കരുത്തരായ റെയില്വേസിനെ രണ്ടിനെതിരെ മൂന്നു ഗോളുകള്ക്ക് തകര്ത്തായിരുന്നു സ്വന്തം കാണികള്ക്ക് മുമ്പില് കേരളത്തിന്റെ കിരീട നേട്ടം.
നായകന് ടി.കെ.എസ് മണിയുടെ ഹാട്രിക്കായിരുന്നു ഫൈനലില് ശ്രദ്ധേയമായത്. സന്തോഷ് ട്രോഫി ചരിത്രത്തില് സ്വന്തം കാണികള്ക്ക് മുന്നില് സ്വന്തം മൈതാനത്ത് ഹാട്രിക്ക് നേടി ഒരു ക്യാപ്റ്റന് ട്രോഫി ഉയര്ത്തിയ അപൂര്വ നേട്ടത്തിനും മണി അര്ഹനായി.
