അഡ്ലെയ്ഡ്: പാക് വംശജനായ ക്രിക്കറ്റര് ജുനൈദ് സഫര് ഖാന് മത്സരത്തിനിടെ കുഴഞ്ഞുവീണ് മരിച്ചു. അഡ്ലെയ്ഡിലെ കോണ്കോര്ഡിയ കോളേജിലാണ് സംഭവം. പ്രിന്സ് ആല്ഫ്രഡ് ഓള്ഡ് കോളേജിയന്സും ഓള്ഡ് കോണ്കോര്ഡിയന്സും തമ്മിലുള്ള മത്സരത്തിനിടെയാണ് സംഭവം. കനത്ത ചൂട് വകവയ്ക്കാതെയായിരുന്നു മത്സരം.
ഓസ്ട്രേലിയന് സമയം വൈകീട്ട് നാലുമണിയോടെയാണ് ജുനൈദ് പിച്ചില് കുഴഞ്ഞുവീണത്. 40 ഓവര് ഫീല്ഡ് ചെയ്യുകയും ഏഴ് ഓവര് ബാറ്റുചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്ത ശേഷമാണ് കുഴഞ്ഞുവീണത്. 41.7 ഡിഗ്രി സെല്ഷ്യസ് ആയിരുന്നു പ്രദേശത്തെ താപനില. താപനില 42 ഡിഗ്രി സെല്ഷ്യസ് കവിഞ്ഞാല് മത്സരം റദ്ദാക്കണമെന്നാണ് അഡ്ലെയ്ഡ് ടര്ഫ് ക്രിക്കറ്റ് അസോസിയേഷന്റെ നിയമാവലിയിലുള്ളത്.
2013-ല് പാകിസ്താനില്നിന്ന് കുടിയേറിയ ജുനൈദ്, ഓസ്ട്രേലിയയില് ഐടി രംഗത്ത് ജോലിചെയ്തുവരികയായിരുന്നു.
