'തങ്കമണി' എന്ന മലയാള സിനിമയിലെ അഭിനയ മികവിനെ മുന്നിര്ത്തി സമ്പത്ത് റാമിന് മലയാള പുരസ്കാര സമിതിയുടെ 'മലയാള പുരസ്കാരം 1200' ചലച്ചിത്ര സംവിധായകനും മാധ്യമപ്രവര്ത്തകനുമായ ടി. ശരത്ചന്ദ്രനും മാധ്യമപ്രവര്ത്തകന് രാജ് പ്രഭുവും ചേര്ന്ന് സമര്പ്പിച്ചു. വിദേശത്ത് ഷൂട്ടിങ്ങിലായിരുന്നതിനാല് കൊച്ചിയില് നടന്ന പുരസ്കാര സമര്പ്പണ പരിപാടിയില് സമ്പത്ത് റാമിന് എത്തിച്ചേരാന് കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല.
തുടര്ന്നാണ് പുരസ്കാര സമിതി ഭാരവാഹികള് ചെന്നൈയില് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വീട്ടിലെത്തി പുരസ്കാരം സമര്പ്പിച്ചത്. മലയാള പുരസ്കാര സമിതിയുടെ സ്ഥാപകനും ജനറല് സെക്രട്ടറിയുമായ ഇസ്മായില് കൊട്ടാരപ്പാട്ടും ജോഷി എബ്രഹാമും ചടങ്ങിന് നേതൃത്വം നല്കി.
