അതിജീവനത്തിന്റെ മാതൃകയാവുകയാണ് തിരുവനന്തപുരം ശ്രീചിത്രാ ഹോമിലെ കുട്ടികളുടെ 'പ്രാപ്തി'വസ്ത്ര ബ്രാന്‍ഡ്. ചുരുങ്ങിയ കാലം കൊണ്ടാണ് സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്കും കുട്ടികള്‍ക്കുമുള്ള വസ്ത്രങ്ങളൊരുക്കി പ്രാപ്തി ജനകീയ ബ്രാന്‍ഡായി വളര്‍ന്നത്. ഹോമിലെ അന്തേവാസികളായ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ളവരാണ് തയ്യല്‍ജോലികള്‍ ചെയ്യുന്നത്. നബാര്‍ഡിന്റെ പദ്ധതിപ്രകാരം ആദ്യം 30 പേര്‍ക്ക് തയ്യല്‍പരിശീലനം ലഭ്യമാക്കി. ഹോമിനുള്ളില്‍ വര്‍ഷങ്ങളായി തയ്യല്‍ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നവര്‍ക്കൊപ്പം താത്പര്യമുള്ളവരെക്കൂടി ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയായിരുന്നു പരിശീലനം. തുടര്‍ന്ന് തകരപ്പറമ്പില്‍ ഹോമിന്റെതന്നെ ഒരുഭാഗം ഔട്ട്ലെറ്റായി സജ്ജീകരിച്ചു. കുട്ടികള്‍ക്കും സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്കുമുള്ള റെഡിമെയ്ഡ് വസ്ത്രങ്ങള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം അവര്‍ക്കായുള്ള വിവിധ വസ്ത്രങ്ങളും 'പ്രാപ്തി'യില്‍ തയ്ച്ചുനല്‍കും. ഭരതനാട്യം, കുച്ചിപ്പുഡി, മോഹിനിയാട്ടം തുടങ്ങി വിവിധ നൃത്തയിനങ്ങള്‍ക്കുള്ള വസ്ത്രങ്ങളും കുറഞ്ഞ നിരക്കില്‍ 'പ്രാപ്തി'യില്‍ ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ട്.

Currently, fabrics for making clothes are sourced from Thiruvananthapuram, but the home is planning to buy fabrics in bulk if the demand increases. Along with clothes, indoor plants, paintings, and handicrafts are also available for sale at Prapti. The outlet is open from 9:30 am to 5 pm.
