Dr Mumtaz Khalid IsmailDr Mumtaz Khalid Ismail is a practising Consultant Clinical Nutritionist for the last twenty seven years. She has graduated from Aligarh Muslim University and did her post graduation in Foods and Nutrition from P S G College of Arts and Science, Bharathiyar University and PhD in Foods and Nutrition from Mother Theresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal. Her research was on child nutrition. She has held various appointments like outpatient dietician, clinical nutrition manager, Chief Nutritionist and Project Manager in prestigious institutions and organisations like Army Medical Corps. Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, Krishna hospital Kochi, Medvista Health Care Solutions India pvt ltd, online Nutritionist for India world communications and Sify Ltd, board of advisor for Playon Skills Pvt Ltd, Consultant Nutritionist for National Rural Health Mission, Kerala State. She was the Consultant Nutritionist for UNICEF Office, Kerala. She was the member of board of studies for P. S. G College of arts and science Coimbatore for both under graduates and post graduates in the year 2006 - 2008. She is a regular columnist in the Hindu newspaper, Smart family, Kanyaka magazine, Dent Care Magazine, Ritz. She has drafted the nutrition policy for the Kerala state in 2013. She is currently professor of Nutrition for BSc Degree College of Nursing for Sri Sudheendra College, Ernakulam and Lisie College of Nursing, Ernakulam.

Presently she is also involved in freelance clinical practise on Diet and Nutrition Consultation for weight loss and other life style disorders and also a corporate Nutritionist on various programmes which aims to bring about sustainable change and provide equal access to healthy lifestyle options for all the corporate employees. Canteen menu evaluation, health awareness talk for employees, healthy nutrition practices for food production staff. She has conducted her total nutrition programmes in Malayala Manorama, Avt. Ltd , Geojit, TCS, BPCL Kochi Refinery, KPMG and Federal Bank.

She has done original work in developing various types of therapeutic diets and presented papers in various forums like Swadeshi Science Congress, Indian Medical Association, Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Integrated Child Development Services, etc. Her nutritional opinions have been published in many journals and leading newspapers like paediatric companion, Times of India, Sunday Observer and The Hindu. She has appeared in many Radio and TV channels as nutritional expert. She is a member of Indian dietetic Association and Nutrition society of India and president of Association for Evidence Based Dietetics and Nutrition. She has set up the dietary department in Ernakulam General Hospital which is the Kerala’s first Government hospital to provide food as per the disease specifications to the inpatients.

She is married to Dr Muhamed Ismail, Paediatrician and has two sons.
