മാര്ച്ച് 22- ലോകജലദിനം. മൂന്നാം ലോകയുദ്ധം ജലത്തിന് വേണ്ടിയായിരിക്കും എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്ന കാലമാണിത്. ജലദൗര്ലഭ്യവും ജലമലിനീകരണവും മാരകമായ പ്രശ്നമായി ലോകമാകെ മാറിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. ഈയൊരു യാഥാര്ത്ഥ്യം കണ്ടിട്ടും കണ്ടില്ലെന്ന് നടിക്കുകയാണ് ഭരണകൂടങ്ങളും ജനങ്ങളും. ഉപഭോഗസംസ്കാരത്തിന്റെ പിടിയില് പ്രകൃതിനിഷേധത്തിലധിഷ്ഠിതമായ ജീവിതരീതി ശീലമാക്കുന്ന പുതിയ കാലം ജലമില്ലാതെ ജീവനില്ല എന്ന സത്യം മനസ്സിലാക്കാതെ പോകുന്നു. ശുദ്ധജലത്തിന് സ്വര്ണത്തേക്കാള് വില വരുന്ന കാലത്തേക്ക് ലോകം മാറികൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ജനസംഖ്യ വര്ദ്ധിക്കുകയും ഭൂമിയില് ജലം കുറയുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന സ്ഥിതിയാണിപ്പോള് .ഇന്ത്യ ഉള്പ്പെടെയുള്ള രാജ്യങ്ങള് കടുത്ത ജലക്ഷാമം അനുഭവപ്പെടുന്ന രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടികയിലേക്ക് നീങ്ങുന്നു. കുടിവെള്ള സ്രോതസ്സുകളെല്ലാം ദിനം പ്രതി മലിനമാവുന്നു. മഹാനദികള് ഇന്ന് മാലിന്യക്കൂമ്പാരങ്ങളാണ്. കിണറുകളും കുളങ്ങളും മലിനമാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ജലദൗര്ബല്യത്തിന്റെ തീവ്രത കാട്ടുന്ന ചില ചിത്രങ്ങള് .
