SC-ST Commission comes against Police

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes comes out vehemently upon police saying that they give unusual lag in the investigation of complaints filed by the backward classes. In the yearly report submitted by Commission Chairman P N Vijayakumar to government alleges that the police and the higher officials sabotage laws constituted to protect the backward classes. Even the top officials sabotage the Supreme Court directive to probe the criminal cases which should be investigated by officials equivalent to DySP rank. The top police officials are not interested to appear before the Commission. The police also show negligence to bring cases before the Commission on time.
