New notification on Western Ghats protection

New Delhi: The Union forest-environment ministry said that if needed will issue a new draft notification for the protection of Western Ghats. The Ministry clarified their stand in the affidavit presented before the National Green Tribunal. Meanwhile the National Green Tribunal asked the Environment Secretary to submit an affidavit in announcing the ecologically fragile areas which were ignored by Kasturi Rangan report. Meanwhile, the Goa Foundation brought to the notice of Tribunal about the news that the government is planning for another survey. Tribunal vehemently came upon Ministry and asked whether they view their statements a trivial.
