Modi signs Kasi-Kyoto heritage pact with Japan

Delhi: On his maiden bilateral visit outside Indian sub-continent, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Japan visit has started with the signing a partner city affiliation agreement with Varanasi and Kyoto, which will see cooperation in the fields of heritage conservation, city modernization and culture. In the five-day long visit to the country, Modi will sign some important agreements with Japan on the areas Defense, Atomic Energy and improving basic infrastructure facilities. However, the visit also has mired in controversy with industrialist Mukesh Ambani conveying his resentment over the exclusion of him from the delegation of industrialists from the country to visit Japan on Wednesday.
