Plus Two: HC cancels consent for 104 new batches

Kochi: The High Court single bench cancelled the functioning of 104 schools where the government surpassed the Higher Secondary Director’s recommendation and gave the consent for Plus Two. This verdict was a backlash upon the government decision. The court also asked to give consent for extra batches to schools which were excluded even after Higher Secondary Director’s recommendation. The court said that this was an interim order. The HC asked not to allow Plus Two batches to substandard schools. Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb said that there were both favourable and adverse factors in the verdict. Meanwhile opposition deputy leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan asked for resignation of Education Minister at this juncture.
