Worrying rise of communal violence under Modi’s watch: Sonia

Thiruvananthapuram: Addressing a special convention organised by the KPCC, Cong Pres Sonia Gandhi said the more than 600 incidents of communal violence in UP, Maharashtra and other parts of the country since Modi came to power was a “matter of grave concern.” She faulted the NDA line on Gaza. Sonia lauded the Kerala unit for observing a ‘quit violence week’ for social harmony and peace from August 9, and also praised it for launching a democratic revamp of the organisation starting with booth level elections. She said that the 125th birth anniversary of the country’s first PM Nehru this year provided an opportunity to organise campaigns on secularism and peace.
