Bail to Marad convicts may trigger law and order problem

Dilli: The Government of Kerala in its affidavit filed in the Supreme Court has conveyed its apprehensions of a law and order issue if the Marad convicts were given bail. The affidavit is filed as the apex court considers the bail plea of the 22 culprits demanding humanitarian consideration as they have already spent 11 years in jail. The verdict of the trial court was ratified by the Kerala High Court. As the case relates to the premeditated slaughter of 8 persons, letting loose the convicts will result in a conflagration. Even if bail were to be granted, it should be with stringent strictures. The accused should not be allowed to enter Kozhikode district.
