State victimises an Officer who fought powerful encroachers

Idukki: Stricken by partial paralysis, V K Francis, range officer who fought encroachers with political hues and reclaimed 100 acres of government land in Mathikettan, battles on against the perfidy of the same government, which has now frozen his retirement benefits. Then he was ‘rewarded’ with a 22-month suspension. Earlier he had vested control of the 260-acre Thoothenpara estate in Nelliampathy and wrested back a priceless 8-acre plot of the Forest department in Pollachi town. The crusader was always against the powers that be and has never kowtowed to their interests. He has pledged his unswerving loyalty to the state that pays him a salary.
