HM transfer row: Controversy paves way to compromise

Thiruvananthapuram: The controversy over transferring the former Head Mistress of Cotton Hill School heads for settlement. Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb said that after considering HM’s plea will take decision after discussion with Chief Minister. HM Urmila Devi earlier met CM in person and requested to cancel her transfer. Later she visited V S Achuthanandan and explained the situation. Mean time, opposition staged walk out over headmistress transfer row. Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan alleged that government took an enmity stand toward the Urmila Devi. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy clarified that the transfer was a governmental procedure.
