NDA to set aside Planning Commission

New Delhi: The central government may set aside Planning Commission or curtail its power. Since one month after assuming power the NDA government has not yet revamped the Planning Commission. Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram supported government’s curb over Commission’s authority. During his tenure as Chief Minister Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vehemently criticized Planning Board. The financial authorities will be cancelled from Commission and may retain as advisory committee. Earlier there was an allegation that Commission interfere on economic powers of states. There was another argument that Commission poses hindrance to project implementation.
