Calicut varsity VC enjoys both salary and pension

Kozhikode: A copy of the memorandum addressed the Governor of Kerala by Samyuktha Samara Samithi of Calicut varsity, accessed by ‘Mathrubhumi News’ reveals that VC Dr. M Abdul Salam, draws a monthly salary of re. 147, 500 and pension amount of re. 49, 668 from KAU. Copies have been marked to the CM, Leader of the Opposition, Ministers for Education and Finance and the secretary of education department. Since VC had taken VRS from his prior post and re-employed, as per Kerala State & Subordinate Service rules pension has to be deducted from the salary. SSS alleges that he has drawn in excess of re. 18 lakh since taking charge in 2011 and is unfit to continue in office.
