Two die as rains wreak havoc in state

Thiruvananthapuram: Two people have reportedly died in separate incidents as heavy rains continued to lash Kerala for the third consecutive day. MeT department has predicted further downpour in the coming hours with claps of thunder and lightning bolts. They have also cautioned fisher folk not to venture into the sea. Revenue authorities have warned people living in land slide prone area to take precautionary measures. Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash said that the Centre has been approached for an emergency aid of re. 70 crore. Union Minister Mulappally Ramachandran said that an emergency report has been sought from the Revenue Secretary and action will be taken on it.
