Paddy procurement: Govt. fails to give dues to farmers

Alappuzha: Paddy farmers in the state are facing a hard time to pay back their agricultural loans since the government has failed to clear the dues of the farmers. It has been three months since the harvest has been completed in the state, farmers say that they haven't got the complete money Supplyco owes. It has been estimated that Supplyco owes Rs 400 crores of rupees total to the farmers. It is assumed that the current financial stalemate has led to current situation. Supplyco owes Rs 180 crore to the farmers of Palakkad, Rs 150 crore to Kuttanad, 46 and 26 crores of rupees to Kottayam and Thrissur farmers respectively.
