Congress demands re-polling in Kannur

Kannur: Congress demanded re-polling in Kannur as the polling rate gives the indication of fake voting in that area. As per reports 90% of people exercised their franchise in 60% of booths in Kannur. Some booths even had 97% voting rate. Of these most of the booths were in Thalipparambu, Mattannur and Dharmadam centres. Kannur DCC president K Surendran alleged that fake votes increased the percentage of polling in these areas. On the other hand CPM leaders retorted that these votes were not fake votes but sign of high democratic knowledge among Kannur people. The Election Deputy Collector said that the right information of the booths that polled 90% will be announced on Monday.
