‘Occupy library’ by CU research scholars intensifies

Kozhikode: Researchers of Calicut University belonging to All Kerala Research Scholars Association {AKRSA}, who are on a “24x7 reading agitation” took out a protest march to the Vice Chancellor’s office under the aegis of SFI, with All India President Dr. K Sivadasan inaugurating it. About fifty research scholars, mostly girls, have occupied the Central Library in an indefinite day and night protest against installation of biometric scanners to monitor their attendance. To confront the agitators, the VC had ordered the closure of all departmental libraries. Expressing their solidarity with AKRSA, PG students also participated in the march.
