AK Balan writes to Chief Secy on cancellation of festivals

Thiruvananthapuram: Voicing the dissatisfaction over cancelling the conduct of various festivals in the state including the film festival, cultural affairs minister AK Balan sent a letter to the Chief Secretary. In the letter, he has demanded to re-examine the decision to cancel the International Film Festival of Kerala. The decision made by the general administration department is against the instruction of Chief Minister. The festival should be conducted avoiding the luxuries and celebrations, he said. Balan further added that he can’ t personally agree with the decision. He also said that he can’ t agree with the decision to cancel the school youth festival.
