Lack of flood mapping worsened flood-impact

Pathanamthitta: The absence of flood-mapping has increased the impact of the floods when the three dams of Sabarigiri hydro-electric project, Kerala's second largest, were opened. The regions of Pathanamthitta and Chengannur were flooded as no warning or alert about the possible extent to which the waters of the dam could reach was given.
