Kerala floods: Special Assembly session on August 30

T'Puram: The Cabinet meet held today decided to convene a special Assembly session to discuss the floods which reeled Kerala. The Assembly session will be held on August 30. Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in the press meet that Relief activities, rehabilitation, and reconstruction will be the main topics of discussion. The cabinet meeting also decided that every department should make special activity plans for rehabilitation. 10 per cent cess will also be imposed for items apart from GST. 10 per cent cess will be imposed on state GST. The imposition of cess is done as part of collecting money for the relief activities.
