Palakkad: In violation of the interstate agreement, Tamil Nadu is taking water from the Parambikulam dams to Thirumoorthy dam, 50 Kms away. This is being done at a time when the farmers are agitating to have dams in Chulliyar and Meenkara filled. Tamil Nadu is taking water via Kondoor canal by making use of the loophole in the Parambikulam-Aliyar agreement which allows the neighbouring state state to take rain water from the dam.
