Sabarimala: Devaswom disagrees to women's entry to temple

New Delhi: The Devaswom Board has repeated its statement that women cannot be allowed to enter to the Sabarimala temple. The Devaswom Board reiterated its stand in the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court, while this case was being reconsidered. Manu Abhishek Singhvi, who represented the Devaswom Board, had remarked that menstruating women would not be able to complete their 41-day penance. He also pointed out that women aged between 10 to 50 have until now been denied the entry to the temple, keeping in with the age old beliefs and practises and not on the basis of discrimination.
