T'puram: The state government has sabotaged the Kerala Forest (Vesting and Management of Ecological Fragile Land) Act 2003, by excluding the plantations completely from ecologically fragile region. The all important decision was taken at the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday and chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed the Assembly of the same in his statement on Thursday. The decision which destroys the Kerala Forest Act, could hamper the encroachment cases pending with the courts. The government has taken the decision as per the recommendation given by Justice Krishnan Nair commission which was deputed to study the issues in the plantation sector in the state.
