Mathrubhumi honours Nipah warriors

Kozhikode: Mathrubhumi pays respects to the people who fought in the battle against Nipah. The program was decided to take place at Kozhikode, after the official announcement of the health department about tackling Nipah virus. Mathrubhumi will give 1 lakh cash award each year for the person who offers supreme services in the health sector. The first award will be given posthumously to nurse Lini, who lost her life while treating people suffering from Nipah at Perambra Taluk hospital. The invitees will include ministers, head of the departments, the specialists who gave leadership to the diagnosis and treatment, the health workers like doctors and nurses hospital employees, ambulance drivers and social workers.
