Geetha still fresh in Mercy’s memories
Thodupuzha: To fulfill the desire of her husband and daughter who died 31 years back, their remains were brought to Kerala for cremation. Mercy Kappan of Thodupuzha Kappil family bought her husband’s and daughter’s remains to her land as per their desire. It was in 1983 Jose Thariyan and Mercy’s daughter Geetha die of blood cancer in Italy. Jose a practicing pediatrician died in 1995 in Italy. Both desired to come back to Kerala but it took years to fulfill their dream. Now Mercy runs a ‘Geetha Village’ for poor girls in memory of her daughter Geetha.
