Puducherry Vehicle Registration; 376 more cars get notice

Kozhikode: The Motor Vehicle Department is going to take stringent action against the luxury vehicles that has evaded tax using Puducherry registration. The action against the tax evaders started in the Malabar region. Notice has been issued against 376 Puducherry registered cars in Malabar region alone. About Rs 4 crore has been collected to the treasury as tax in this way. The most number of Puducherry-registered vehicles have come from Kannur district. Though 121 vehicles have received notice, only a very few have remitted the tax. In Malappuram district, 72 vehicle owners were given notice and 28 among them paid tax. The government earned Rs 2.24 crore as tax.
