CBI gets more powers

New Delhi: The CBI has earlier informed that they were constricted in their work arena. While considering the coalgate case, the CBI informed the Supreme Court that one section from the Personal Department was suffocating them by interfering in their work. At this juncture, SC defined Central government and CBI as ‘caged parrot’. Earlier the government was against giving self governance to CBI, has now changed their stand. The CBI Director will be given the post of Central Secretary. With this the CBI secretary can directly report to minister exempting the personal department. The CBI will get more funds for travel, investigation and training. The CBI will be entrusted with more powers through the amendment of 1946 Delhi
