KSRTC pensioner, who could not afford treatment, dies

Kochi: Vypeen native Roy (59), who retired from the KRTC after 34 years of service died in Puthuvypeen as he could not afford the emergency medical treatment for his heart disease. Roy was not getting his pension for the last five months, say relatives. He was in need of an urgent operation which would have cost him Rs 1.5 lakh and he was in no position to afford that. His wife worked as a domestic help to support the family, including two girls children.
