CBI will probe death of Sreejeev: Home Ministry

New Delhi: Union Minister Jitendra Singh said the CBI will probe the death of Sreejeev, who allegedly died while under the custody of Parassala police. The Minister will soon discuss the matter with the CBI Director. MPs from Kerala Sasi Tharoor and K C Venugopal said they have received a confirmation regarding the CBI probe. Meanwhile, Sreejith said he will continue the protest till the CBI begins probe. Sreejeev's brother Sreejith has been staging a sit-in protest in front of the Secretariat for the past 766 days, demanding a CBI probe into the death. Sreejith received huge support from the social media for his peaceful protest. Sreejeev died on May 19, 2014 while under police custody.
