SC rejects Thomas Chandy's plea to change the Bench

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday rejected former minister Thomas Chandy's petition to change the Bench that will consider the backwaters encroachment case. The current Supreme Court bench comprising Justices RK Agarwal and Abhay Manohar Sapre will consider the case on January 11. In his petition, Thomas Chandy asked the Supreme Court to quash the High Court verdict against him the backwaters encroachment case. He also asked the court to remove the remark that the cabinet list its collective responsibility and to stay the report submitted by Alappuzha District collector T V Anupama.
