Delegates at CPM meet want govt to have control over police

Kollam: In response to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who asked the party members to abstain from activities that will affect the efficiency of the police force, the delegates at the CPM Kollam district conference wanted the government to have more control over the force. They also objected to CM's statement that party members should not intervene in police's affairs including posting and transfers. During discussion, the CM was censured for the way in which he handled the situation after cyclone Ockhi hit Kerala. They also criticised ministers for local self-governments, education and health.
