Thiruvalla: Rail passengers on Thursday staged a protest at Changanacherry railway station against the cancellation of trains. The protesters, who staged a sit-in, was backed by political outfits and other organisations. It may be noted that the railways had cancelled eight passenger trains, including the MEMU operated on Ernakulam-Kayamkulam-Kollam route, for two months citing track doubling works and shortage of loco pilots. However, alleging conspiracy behind the decision, the passengers say the claims put forth by the railways is totally unacceptable.
