TN witnesses an eventful year after Jaya's demise

Chennai: Tamil Nadu saw an eventful year after the demise of former chief minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa. The one-year period was action-filled with political dramas, protests and intervention of central government in sate politics. Apart from the objection to the Koodankulam nuclear project, no other protest made headlines during Jaya's tenure. However, after her death, the state was rocked by a surge of protests. Immediately after the Jallikattu protest, farmers and teachers took to the street raising various demands. The ministers and party leaders, who maintained a low profile during Jaya's tenure, started addressing media. The actions taken by government and party secrets become topics of discussions
