GST: Govt. to crack down on hotels which don't reduce prices

New Delhi: The taxes department has taken steps to book the hotel networks which did not implement the reduction in GST. Hotel chains, including McDonald's, have been served with notices by the department. The national restaurants association said that advertisements showing the new price regime would be released soon. Though the GST has been reduced, the GST council has stopped the system by which the tax for raw materials were refunded. A section of hotel owners claim that the food prices cannot be reduced because of this.
