HC says resignation the best option

Kochi: The Kerala High Court today rejected the plea filed by minister Thomas Chandy against Alappuzha district collector’s report in connection with the land encroachment. The Division Bench of Justice P. N. Raveendran and Justice Devan Ramachandran rejected the plea filed by Chandy. The High Court said that the resignation of Transport Minister Thomas Chandy is ideal and came down heavily on his decision to file a plea against the district collector’s report. The court said the government has lost its confidence on the minister.The court also observed that the minister has to face the law of land like a common citizen. As per the plea filed by Chandy, the government is the first party, the HC said.
