How can a Minister file petition against Govt? HC asks

Kochi: In a blow to Transport Minister Thomas Chandy, the Kerala High Court on Tuesday questioned the rationality of a Minister challenging a government action in a court of law, when his petition challenging the Alappuzha District Collector's report came up for hearing. The court observed it is rare for Ministers filing such petitions. Normally, these matters are handled by the Chief Secretaries, the court noted during the hearing. Thomas Chandy had approached the court, seeking to quash the District Collector's report and to stop further proceedings.
