Kanam seeks removal of Thomas Chandy

T'puram: CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran said Friday that he has asked the CPM to remove Transport minister Thomas Chandy from his post. Kanam made his stand clear during the presentation of a report in the CPI state executive. Kanam has conveyed a strong stance that the cabinet should not go forward with Thomas Chandy, who is facing allegations of encroaching backwaters. The CPI state leadership is presently discussing the issue. Meanwhile, it has been decided to convene an emergency meeting of the LDF on Sunday to discuss the issue.
