Helping Thomas Chandy creates friction within govt

Revenue Minister E Chandrasekharan has written to the Advocate General (AG) seeking to allow Additional Advocate General (AAG) Renjith Thampan to represent the government in the High Court in the land grab case involving Transport Minister Thomas Chandy. Earlier, the AG's Office had removed AAG from the case and appointed another advocate. In his letter, the Minister pointed out that the case is in public interest and needs prior experience in revenue-related case. However, the AG said it is the discretion of the Advocate-General's Office to decide who should appear for the case in the High Court. Super Prime Time discusses the issue with Joseph Vazhakan, BK Vinod, Antony Raju, Adv Jayashankar and KP Satheesan.
