Veteran actor Farooq Sheikh passes away in Dubai

New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood actor Farooq Sheikh {65} passed away of a heart attack while holidaying with family in Dubai. The body will be flown to Mumbai after completing the formalities. Born to a zamindari Amroli family in 1948, Sheikh made a tremendous contribution to theatre, films and TV. He debuted in ‘Garam Hawa’ {1973}, and delivered stand-out performances in Satyajit Ray’s ‘Shatranj Ke Khiladi’ {1977}, Noorie {1979}, Chashme Buddoor {1981} and Katha & Kissi Se Na Kehna {both 1983}. His last film was ‘Club 60’ and before that ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. He also hosted a popular TV show ‘Jeena Issi Ka Naam Hai’ interviewing many Bollywood celebrities.
